SHELBY REC: Weekly Recap | 2Deep win big, YLie and Wildcats off to great start
YLie's Johnnie Brown scores 21 points to edge House Of Skillz
2Deep makes statement in rout against the LAKE show. The Albanian team is back at ultimate hoops, and making some noise. John Sinishtaj gave a great performance with thirty points and Frank Gojcaj with nine-teen points and twelve boards, as they cruise right past LAKE Show with ease. LAKE Show a newly formed team, played strong, but ultimately was defeated by the chemistry and talent of 2Deep. Semir Agic and Matthew Slater combined for thirty-six points, but only eighteen from the rest of the cast. LAKE show showed signs that they can be a playoff team, and may just need time for the team to gel together. It all comes down to the backcourt for this team and questions rise as if Semir Agic can become that (quarterback) point guard on the floor , commanding, and leading the LAKE show to that win.
Momentum from their win against House of Skillz, Wildcats didn’t let go of the gas, and came away with a victory Wednesday night against New Age Titans. An all around team performance, and great shooting, Edin Muhtarevic with twenty-five points, and the rest of the team ran away from this one to go 2-0 this season. Brandon Andonoff had great game twenty-six points and eighteen boards but, the New Age Titans still lack an offensive identity and have had trouble the last two games, getting a run when needed. Defense improved as the Titans played the 2-3 zone, which gave trouble to the wildcats, forcing contested shots but still was not enough.
Another game down to the wire, House of Skillz and YLie played a tough, close, gritty battle. Ryan Nelson had a quiet performance after his game winner last week with only nine points, but Johnnie Brown (YLie’s Captain) came through with twenty-one points, just barley getting by House of Skillz. Anthony Amabile struck fire from behind the three, six for eleven, with a total of twenty-six points. House of Skillz again had the final shot just like last week. The three by Vaughn didn’t fall though, and YLie advances to 2-0 ,with a great start to the winter season.
Performance Issues, get their first victory, over a tough House Money team. The backcourt duo of Mckinsey Golfin and Jeff Wertz paid dividends once more combining for forty-points getting passed House Money, who had quite difficulty keeping up with the high shooting percentage from Performance Issues. The defending back to back champions are back at .500 and looking to build momentum and get on a winning streak.
