MANSFIELD, TX: UHoopaz Dominate | Fall Season Signups
UHoopaz was just a 6-man team this season.
In a season plagued with player absences and lack of loyalty, the UHoopaz remained faithful as a unit which proved to be the key to their dominance on the courts, and ultimately to their success in both the regular season and playoffs.
UHoopaz were picked from the start to take it home, even with the emergence of a possible powerhouse such as The Fundamentalists, but efforts to dominate were often halted by the inability of many of their players to show up all at once. This trend seemed to be the demise of many of the teams, such as Redeem Team losing top player Cam Barnes. UHoopaz did lose fellow assist man Cary McNorton due to school, but a smart team adjusts accordingly.
UHoopaz kept it together, which in turn strengthened their chemistry and effectiveness, and with almost all players averaging double figures in points, you get a better glimpse as to why this team averaged almost 120 points a game (117.7)! A team that stays together, in combination with pure talent and a desire to win makes for one lethal team. UHoopaz took out Redeem Team 104-100 in the championship game to seal the deal, and Tristan Smith's 38 points and 11 rebounds earns him the title of MVP, as well as his phenomenal contributions for his team throughout the season.
