MANSFIELD, TX: It's Raining Threes! Who's The Best Shooter In The League?
When it comes to the Mansfield league, the 3-pointer is king. Let's take for instance game 2 on Tuesday. Both teams shot exceptionally well from the 3-line, with UHoops shooting 13-21 (62%) from downtown and the Veteranshitting 11-22 (50%) from long range, an incredible display of sharp shooting and accuracy that could make a sniper jealous!
This brings me to a question that I have been wanting to ask for some time now. In a league with an abundance of 3-point shooters, who do you think is the deadliest of them all, and why? Who poses the biggest 3-point threat? Let's take a look at some of the top gunners.
The Vets' Milan Sanders leads the league in 3-pointers made with 34, and is shooting a very accurate 56%. Leonard Frank of UHoops has knocked down 24 so far, and is shooting 41%, with teammate Julian Johnson close behind with 22 in, shooting 48%. The underdog Lunch Ballers' 3-point assassin Adam Rowe has drained 20 with an accuracy of 38%.
These are just a few of the guys that are more than able to sink a 3, and there are many things to be considered in determining the best shooter! 3-pointers made, 3-pointers attempted, and percentage are clear factors (who has the best numbers), but there are some that are only noticeable to the observer like, how many 3's did a particular player make when he was wide open? How many were made off of a pass, or directly off the dribble? How many were made with a hand directly in their face, and how many were made in an off-balance position? Makes you think, doesn't it? Post the rankings of your top 5 3-point shooters, your opinions and reasons why in the comment box below!!
