COMMERCE REC: Week 2 power rankings | C4 makes a promise

Jarrod Rice Hoping His Team Can Pull Together Soon

The summer session of Ultimate Hoops Commerce is in fullswing. After two weeks of play, lets take a look at how the teams stack up against each and rank after week two!

1. SONS OF BASKETBALL - The defending champs came out on a mission in their week 1 blow out win. A lot of teams and GM’s said they shouldn’t have won the championship last season. Well, in a rematch of the semi finals against Hit Squad the game was never close. The Sons left little doubt about who would win that game. They still sit on top of the basketball throne as of now!

2. C4 - The past 2 seasons, C4 has not made it out of the first round of the playoffs. That’s hard to imagine a team of this magnitude and championship pedigree not to make it out the 1st round. Some have started to wonder about this team, but GM Joseph Kassis has already made it known that his team will be back in the championship. You have to respect a championship team.

3. WEEKEND WARRIORS - The Warriors finally made it to the championship game last season, but they could not capture that elusive championship trophy. Not because they didn’t play hard…but for the 1st time that we can remember they did not have an entire team. They have a different team this season, not as many shooters but just enough. Any team that moves the ball as well as they do is always going to be a threat.

4. ONE UNDER - GM Mike Welsh lost big man Brian Mills this season, but he might have found his replacement. He recruited a 6’5 255 Pound wingman in Austin Doggette. They still have swingman Desmond Sain as well, which is huge, because there were some rumors floating around that he wouldn’t be back with this team.

5. HIT SQUAD - Should we call them the hit or miss squad? This has to be one of the most confusing teams in the league. When all their players show up and come to play, they might one of the most dominant teams in the league. But, they don’t so they end up losing games by 15+ like they did in week 1 and week 2.

6. RUNNIN’ REBELS - Just 2 seasons ago they were the new kids on the block, and came in and won a championship in their 1st season. Since then, this team has struggled to find its identity and players to stay on the team the entire season. After a close loss in week one and week two, the team looks to keep jelling and put together a win in week three.
