COMMERCE, MI REC: Feeling Lucky
McKinsey Golfin Watching His Team Beat The Young Guns
With the last week of the season approaching and the playoffs right around the corner, there are several teams still fighting for a higher seed in the playoffs. Some teams can almost choose their own destiny by winning or losing. With St. Patrick’s Day just passing a few days ago, one team is hoping some of that Irish luck can carry over to Thursday night!
The Young Guns are hoping some luck can fall on their side when the clock strikes 9pm on Thursday night in commerce, when they take on a very talented One Under squad. The Young Guns are currently 0-7, and they have had moments this season where it looks like they could pull out a win, but then the inevitable happens where they end up losing by a large amount. Just last week they were only down by 10 at halftime to the Weekend Warriors by almost 50 points. With such a young team, no pun intended they have to find a way to win this last game of the season.
No team in Ultimate Hoops history has ever gone 0-8 then go on to win a playoff series; yet alone a game. If Phillip Nelson and Julio Alvarado can put together one of their best games of the season and the rest of the team can help out in every other aspect of the game, they might be able to get that first win of the season before the playoffs begin! Hopefully a little luck is on their side, or as the Hampton University men’s coach said, “I’ve got Jesus on speed dial.” And maybe that will give them a little edge before its all said and done!
