COMMERCE, MI REC: Can The Top Seeds Pull It Off
Jeff Emery, Darius Statum, Joel Simpson Looking To Capture Their First Title In The Commerce Rec League
The wonderful time of each season is finally here, Playoff Time! With Christmas and New Years now in the rear view mirror our 8 teams who clinched playoff births will now duke it out to determine this seasons champion. In all honesty I can actually say that every team has a shot at winning this season. The competition has been at an all time high and the team who gets hot at the right time will put themselves on track to win the championship. Of course everyone expects the tops seeds to advance on to the next round, but which top seeds are on upset alert in the quarterfinals? Sons of Basketball and C4 couldn't have drew tougher matchups in the first round.
C4 vs. Bull Dogs
In their one meeting this season the Bull Dogs were able to defeat C4. Although Jeff Jayson was absent for C4, the Bull Dogs did what they do best which is feed their big man Tauron Bennett who completely destroyed them all night. He demands a double team every time he touches the ball which opens up the floor for their dead eye shooter Julio Alvarado. C4 may be thinking that this could be a blowout game for them, but I anticipate this game being closer than anyone expects.
Sons of Basketball vs. Hit Squad
Sons of Basketball are by far the most complete team this season and will be a tough matchup for any team, but they are facing off against the defending champions who have the targets on their backs. Hit Squad finished the season 4-4. They've had their entire team 3 games this season and are 3-0 with a winning margin of victory of 24 PPG. They will be tough to beat as no one in the league has been able to contain Brandon Krause this season. This matchup will be the game of the night and expect it to go down to the final buzzer.
