Minneapolis, MN- When Bravehearts star forward Marshann Johnson entered Ultimate Hoops three years ago as a part of the Mavericks franchise he was nicknamed "The Future". Is it time to change his nickname to "The Present"? Johnson scored a team-high 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in the Bravehearts 64-61 win over Team Fridley on Monday night to advance to the Target Center Ultimate Hoops Championship game on March 28. The Bravehearts will face league powerhouse Abe Froman [9-1] in the championship game. Johnson is currently #5 in PPR ratings for the season, trailing teammate Keilon Riddley who is ranked #2 and is an MVP nominee this season. If the Bravehearts win the championship, it would be a fourth championship for UH veteran Quincy Young. [Watch Quincy Young's post-game interview] In the other Semi-Final game at Target Center last night, Abe Froman outscored The Gauchos 25-12 in the second half to win big 58-39. Bryan Munsell led Abe Froman with 16 points and two steals. Forward Hans Hennen added 10 points and three rebounds off the bench. Not a single player scored in double figures for The Gauchos. Star players Nathan Peterson and Ben Martancik were a combined 4-of-23 from the field for The Gauchos who finished their first season in Ultimate Hoops with an impressive 6-4 record.
